Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) is an up-and-coming caterer and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a promising network sports director. After a disastrous first date, the only thing they have in common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter, Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in the world, Holly and Messer are forced to put their differences aside. Juggling career ambitions and competing social calendars, they’ll have to find some common ground while living under one roof.

Get ready, it’s Izzie’s new rom-com – life after Katherine Heigl’s “Grey’s Anatomy” gig ended.

(Also below, watch Heigl tell David Letterman recently that she can’t watch “Grey’s Anatomy” any more because she feels like she’s missing the party – and gets jealous when Alex Karven sleeps with other women.)

Heigl and Duhamel star as “two single adults become caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident,” as IMDB describes the new movie.

The cute duo play God-parents to a baby girl, whose mom (Christina Hendricks as Alison Novack) and dad (Hayes MacArthur as Peter) die, leaving the hapless couple to fends for themselves, and eventually find love after their disastrous first date.

Hendricks, the amazing “Joan” from Mad Men, is well-liked – and we can see rom-com saps like me curled up in bed with a snack and a glass of Merlot sopping up “Life as We Know It” up on Netflix.
